RCF LAUTECH, A Home and A Potter’s House

I didn’t realize how much RCF LAUTECH already wired into me until last Sunday, neither did I realize how much I’ve grown to love RCF LAUTECH. I silently looked through the ceiling, the RCF I joined 2012 and I almost shed tears. The house is indeed a home.

When I first joined the house, I was amazed as to how youths were burning for the Lord, everyone looked like they were not students, they were serious and committed for the course of Christ as though they had no other life.

I gave my life to Christ genuinely at 15 while at home, I was growing steadily and I knew staying back at RCF could build me. I had surveyed about two to three gatherings before my room mate introduced me to RCF. I prayed to God to lead me to where He wants me to be for the period of my undergraduate days. I got a leading to join RCF.

First off, RCF LAUTECH is a big house. And there is something about a large gathering, it can be the most difficult to handle. But no, not my RCF, it’s as organized as a British Library. You can’t pass through RCF and not understand organization and protocol. The standard is just so high that I’ve not seen it in many other places. It’s not a place where you just do things anyhow. It has really shapened several of us.

You won’t enjoy the blessings in that house, if you feel it’s just a student fellowship. Yes it is, but more than that. I don’t know how God does it, but that house has built hundreds of lives and more. Whether fellowship or no fellowship, whether Jew or Gentiles, one thing that matters is that the house is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. When you see someone in 200L and above, dissecting the word of God with precision and accuracy, if you were to listen to the audio, you would believe it was a youth pastor, but no, they are students pursuing B. Tech.

Also, RCF is a place where you can build a strong root downwards. Every organization has a focus, every church has a vision. I’ve come to realize that, if you want to build a solid foundation, I mean such a foundation that is fit for building a Skyscraper, stay in RCF LAUTECH. The house doesn’t joke with the basics of the faith. The Basics can never be overemphasized. I appreciated my primary school teacher for teaching us ABC…123 the day I saw a young secondary school girl that didn’t know ABC, I was dumbfounded. (So ABC is not easy😨…) To teach her became a tug of war, that day I learnt a lesson. Don’t jump, if you Jump, one day you will still come back, by then, it might not be easy. Be rooted, be grounded, go and grow steadily. This can be achieved in RCF LAUTECH.

Talking about the meat and the bones of the word of God. You can eat as much as you can in the house. I see Obedience, Submission, and Humility as a strong meat. If a man is not built on the foundation level, these three things won’t be easy. It takes the Spirit of God for a man to totally submit, obey and humble himself. These are the key characteristics of Jesus. You would practically learn these three in the house. No doubt! if you have these characteristics, then you’re fit to be a good leader with good character like our Lord Jesus in any sphere of life.

RCF LAUTECH will teach you to sit down with your own Bible and study it for personal growth. The house would never take a teaching that wouldn’t bring you back to the place of studying the Bible for yourself. The house isn’t raising church goers, she raises children of God, and it is God that is in this business Himself. As much as the house encourages reading Christian literatures, the Bible remains the basis and never to be substituted for any book at all, irrespective of the author.

In RCF LAUTECH, if you can sit, you will learn to be responsible. Responsibility is a state of mind, you can’t fake it, you can’t manage to have it. You either have it or you don’t have it. It can be built overtime until it becomes yours. The benefit of this is, if you’re responsible in RCF LAUTECH, there’s no way you won’t be responsible in other spheres of life. The magic is, sit down and learn.

The house is a house of excellence, they don’t just do things, but they do it extraordinarily. I may not be able to explain this, join the house, sit down in the house and you will see for yourself that excellence is everywhere.

RCF LAUTECH will teach you discipline, irrespective of who you are. But I’ve also discovered that you may not change into a better person if you are not willing to totally submit, the moment you start thinking, “these people are my level and course mates.” there would definitely be a problem. RCF will change you, better put, God will change you in RCF LAUTECH and your life will never remain the same.

Just because you serve God in RCF isn’t a license to failure, you can serve God wholeheartedly and still excel in your academics. The house doesn’t encourage failure one bit. This is the place of learning to put a balance to everything. You can’t be in RCF and not learn to be a balanced Christian.

The house will teach you about purpose discovery. The house believes strongly that everyone is on earth for a particular purpose. If only you can sit down, you will discover the reason for your existence.

The leadership of the house always amaze me. I can only say it is God’s doing, and it has always been marvelous in our eyes. The leaders are sacrificial leaders, they give their time for God’s business, they sacrifice a lot of things just because they love God. The workers are a wonderful set of people that are also sacrificial, being built up in every capacity. The members comprises of everyone, be it workers or non-workers. It’s a one big, happy family.

I am going to miss RCF LAUTECH a lot, the Sunday services, the family song, the Drama and Choral ministrations, the service, the people, everything and the four walls of RCF LAUTECH.
